I just about cut my teeth on the handlebars of my brothers Harley. I was a latecomer, as both my brother and sister where in their teens when I was born. My Mom and Dad owned and rode Harleys back in the 30's when they lived in Michigan. (My mom rode P-seat). They toured mostly, but my Dad also did some dirt track racing and hill climbing. I have some cool pics of them during that time. They all moved to California during the war. Then came me. Well......a number of years after!
I won my first motorcycle (125cc Suzuki) from a radio station when I was 18 (1967). There was no looking back after that. That M/C quickly became too small and I started borrowing my dads bike (a 360 something-or-other) to ride. Did a teeny bit of dirt bike riding a few years after that. Then comes the big got-married-had-kids gap. At 52 I bought my first Harley (after taking the MSF course mind you), the Sporty. It's a 2001 Hugger. And just recently bought the Custom. It's a 2003. Remember when I told you on the board that the builder (Dreamcatcher Custom Cycles) is new and this bike was only about #5? He really had no model names for any of them although he joked about this one being called "The wet dream" Wellll, I said, that just can't be now that it's mine. So it's model name is now "Creamdream"! It's no OCC or Jesse James, but I sure think he's sexy!
